The Covers 7 of 7:
Virgin Mastertronic

Mastertronic merged with Virgin Games during the summer of 1988. The two companies had quite different traditions and styles, and the new logo and artwork was a blend of the two. Some full price product went onto the Virgin label, but there were two versions.

Ninja Warriors shows the traditional Virgin Games logo whilst Golden Axe has a newer style in keeping with the Virgin Group artwork. Releases in the USA used the traditional artwork.

While nearly all budget games continued to be released on the Mastertronic label, a new identity was created. The company itself was now called Virgin Mastertronic.
